Shedding Light (cones) on AI

Full disclosure, there isn't really a legal angle to this post at all, but I found this article a really eye-opening window into the kinds of cross-disciplinary thinking, work and innovation going on in the field of AI. 

The TL:DR summary is that applying the principles of special relativity to an AI can dramatically improve its ability to predict the future, but don't be put off reading by the science...

The UK Government is currently consulting on the interaction of AI and IP protection in the fields of patents and copyright, and this is just further evidence of what a complicated but exciting area this is.
