A timely reminder of why the advent of no fault divorce cannot come quickly enough. A firm who had adopted a 'sausage factory' approach to their drafting has seen 28 petitions thrown out. An observant district judge spotted the identical documents and referred them all to the High Court. All 28 were summarily dismissed.
The sooner parties are relieved of the need to itemise unreasonable behaviour to obtain a divorce, the better. Currently it is hoped that couples will be able to seek a divorce on a no fault basis with effect from 6 April 2022.
