Companies House provides updated timings on ACSP registration and identity verification

In her recent article “Reflecting on a landmark year for Companies House”, Louise Smyth CBE, the Chief Executive of Companies House, provided the following timeframes which will be of interest for anyone wondering about registration as an authorised corporate service provider (ACSP) or identity verification under the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act 2023:

  • From 25 February, individuals and organisations will be able to register as an authorised corporate service provider (ACSP).
  • From 25 March, individuals will be able to voluntarily verify their identity using GOV.UK One Login.

We are still awaiting final secondary legislation on the ACSP and identity verification regime, although the timings announced by Companies House suggest that such regulations may be coming sooner rather than later.

See our ECCTA Toolkit for more on what it means to be an ACSP and the identity verification requirements that will eventually be fully enforced. In the meantime, please contact cosec@stevens-bolton.com or your usual Stevens & Bolton contact if you have any questions.
