Following last week’s Labour election victory, the government has wasted no time in announcing the key changes they intend to introduce in the UK for the months and years ahead.
One such announcement is the long-awaited removal of the onshore wind ban in England immediately and the revision of the planning policy. Additionally, the policy statement also sets out further proposals for extensive changes to support renewable energy development. Whilst the prospect of further renewable projects will assist the UK in getting under “full sail” towards the net zero strategy and closer to energy independence, how this will be implemented across the country will be of keen interest to many.
