Following the ongoing general review of the law relating to marriages (unveiling the changes), the government is now seeking immediate feedback on outdoor marriages and civil partnership ceremonies. A statutory instrument currently allows outdoor ceremonies. This change was introduced during the pandemic to allow more ceremonies to safely proceed and to support the beleaguered wedding industry. However, it is only in place until 22 April 2022. The government would like to make the change permanent as part of its overall review of marriage-law and is seeking the views of the public.
