Continuing demand for warehouse space

Cushman & Wakefield started tracking demand in the warehouse sector in 2009 and say that this year demand is likely to overtake the record high of 53m sq ft of 2020. So far in the first nine months of this year approximately 48.9m sq ft has been taken up as demand increases from logistics operators in response to the continuing expansion of e-commerce. Strong demand is fueling rental growth and also investment in the sector particularly from overseas investors.

Britain could run out of warehouse space within a year, according to Cushman & Wakefield.
